Breadcrumb or Breadcrumb Trail is a navigation aid that helps users understand their journey and current location on a knowledge base. It is secondary navigation other than the URL and shows as a small text path, most commonly at the top of the page, which is clickable. It improves customer experience by allowing users to navigate smoothly from any page to parent pages. Google also uses breadcrumbs to understand how your site is structured.
