Claude vs Document360

Claude creates documentation.
Document360 manages it.

AI can generate content in seconds. But documentation only creates value when it stays structured, searchable, and governed for its whole lifecycle - that’s the knowledge base.

The difference

Documentation that stays structured, searchable, and governed.

Claude helps a team draft a document. Document360 adds what a shared doc can't: versioning, approvals, a single source of truth and analytics that keep knowledge usable for years.

FAQs

  • Can Claude Docs replace a knowledge base?

Not really. Claude Docs is a good place for a team to draft and co-edit documents with AI. A knowledge base does a different job. Claude Docs has no version history yet, no approval workflow and content recovery system. It also has no reader analytics and no search across a library of articles. Document360 gives you all of these, so content stays structured, findable and trusted long after the first draft.

  • Not on its own. Claude Code is a coding assistant. It can write and update documentation files in your code repository, but it doesn't host them or give customers a help center to browse. You still need a platform to publish, organize and measure that content. Connect Claude Code to Document360 through MCP, and it can create and update articles in your knowledge base. Your team reviews them before they go live.

  • Yes. Document360 has built-in MCP support, so you can connect Claude from AI Settings → MCP in Document360. Once connected, Claude can search your documentation and create or update articles. It can also move content through review workflows and publish, all within your Document360 roles and permissions. You need a paid Claude plan.

  • Writing is only the first step. After a draft exists, someone has to review and approve it, publish it where customers and employees can find it, and keep it accurate over time. Claude helps you write faster, and Document360 handles everything after that. You get version history, approval workflows, a branded knowledge base, Eddy AI search and analytics that show what readers need next. Let Claude draft it, and let Document360 run it.
